Bio: Sam lives in Sebastopol, where he can often be found on the porch with a crossword or board game. He otherwise enjoys spending time internationally, 50 countries so far.

Educational Background: Sam has an AA/AS Degree from Santa Rosa Junior College, a BS from UC Berkeley, an MA from University of Chicago and an AM from Brown University.
Career History: Sam started in the fire service as an Explorer and later reserve Firefighter with the Healdsburg Fire Department. He has been a Paramedic since 2006, working in various EMS systems including Sonoma and Alameda Counties, and later with the National Park Service at Lake Mead NRA and Yosemite NP. Sam also works with the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office as a rescue Paramedic witht their air unit, Henry-1. Additionally, Sam has a background in public education working with Teach for America as a Teacher, Administrator, and teaching coach in Mississippi and Oakland.
